Antonio BanderasWhen he was young, Antonio wanted to play soccer professionally, but he had a major accident after which he could not play soccer. At that time when he was really disappointed then theatre bought a new ray of hope into his life. He took admission at the School of Dramatic Art. During that period, he was staying in Malaga and in his part time he joined a theatre group. There was shortage of finance and Antonio had to work as a waiter and a ramp model. He made his big debut in 1981. He decided to shift his base and move to Madrid where he joined the National Theater of Spain. He followed this life style till 1986. He got internationaly renowned with films such as Woman on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown (1988) and Tie Me Up! Tie Me Down! (1989). He entered hollywood in 1992, playing the character of an energetic Cuban musician in The Mambo Kings. But success did not come the easy way to him. He had to fight for it through out. He played Tom Hanks's lover in Philadelphia and the public started recognising him. After this, he did Interview With The Vampire, built image for himself and proceeded to do leading roles in films. He played the lead character in Desperado, Assassins, and Never Talk To Strangers.
He did Two Much with Melanie Griffith, became intimate friends with her, and soon the duo realised that their feelings for each other was indeed stronger than what you feel for a friend. He divorced from Ana Leza, his former wife in 1996. He and Melanie tied the sacred knot in May of 1996 and had a baby, Estella, in September. J Lo pairs with AntonioBanderas is all set to join Jennifer Lopez in the indie thriller BORDERTOWN, pairing the two stars for the first time on the screen. Fire and ice combo indeed! Now, this is one movie that would be worth a watch. |
