George Clooney Biography

George Clooney was born on May 6, 1961, in Lexington, KY. During the mid- to late 90’s, he emerged as one of the most rapidly escalating stars of both large and small screens. His father, Nick Clooney was a broadcast journalist. Clooney attended Northern Kentucky University after being unsuccessful to join the Cincinnati Reds baseball team, aged 16. With the help of his cousin, he got a small part in the feature film And They’re Off (1982).

Then he moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting, studying at the Beverly Hills Playhouse. The Nick Clooney Show, his father’s talk show was the one which formed a platform for him to appear first time on the television. In his twenties, he had a fervor for baseball but after tasting a failure with the Cincinnati Reds, finally turned to acting. Having made a start in television commercials, he signed with Warner Bros. His super stardom on the big-screen came after his success on the wildly popular TV medical drama E.R. With this drama, he was able to catch the attention of the young women. The number of women attracted towards him increased as he has matured from an unfeeling womanizer to a decent guy, to some extent an argumentative human being. Besides his infrequent performances in feature films, he has also screened in low-budget videos. Subsequent to E.R.'s success, he was equipped with movie offers and scripts. Quentin Tarantino was his first big budget project in which he is starred as an action hero.

No doubts, Clooney has to bear critical acclaims for Batman but at the same time he was honored with admirations for his analysis and understanding of Batman. His role in two boisterously opposing films earned him number of praises. His two movies are Out of Sight, in which he played a suave bank robber, and Terrence Malick's adaptation of The Thin Red Line. He continued his journey in order to take high-profile projects.

By this time he became a recognized personality that he is known to everybody on the big screen as well as the small screen. He began to stem out as the Executive Producer in Killroy (1999) and Fail Safe (2000). After the production of Rock Star (2001) and Insomnia (2002), Clooney then shaked hands with Out of Sight director, Steven Soderbergh. The modern take on a classic Rat Pack /comedy with Ocean's Eleven (2001) was possible because of his re-joining with director Steven Soderbergh.
