He was a blessing to Nick Clooney, a host of the television talk show and Nina Clooney, a former beauty contestant. The actor after starting on with low-profile TV appearances, including Roseanne and the film Attack of the Killer Tomatoes (1988), was soon recognized as the handsome Dr. Doug Ross in the TV hospital drama, ER (1994). Having enjoyed worldwide heartthrob status, he again turned to film, producing One Fine Day with Michelle Pfeiffer in 1996. His performance in From Dusk Till Dawn (1996) was critically celebrated. In 1997, he earned $10 million for his role as Batman and became the fourth incarnation of the caped crusader in Joel Schumacher’s Batman and Robin. For the critic-favorite1998 film Out of Sight, he was said to command the same salary .He has also starred in The Peacemaker (1997) with Nicole Kidman, and Terrence Malick’s The Thin Red Line (1998). After departing from the small-screen, Clooney’s film profile features the likes of Three Kings (1999), the Coen Brothers’ Oh Brother Where Art Thou? Clooney’s wish to take the picturesque Lake Como under his control cannot be fulfilled. His Italian home has become the target of protestors as they have broken windows and scrawled on walls at his Villa Margherita home in the northern Italian town of Lagli. So, his dream to buy the public beach on the lake will remain a dream.
