Mr. TBorn on 21 May 1952, Mr. T was christened as Laurence Tureaud. He belonged to a lower middle class family and did not had dreams of stardom in his eyes. It just came his way after a long struggle.His Previous occupations include gym teacher, military policeman, bouncer and bodyguard. Involved in pro wrestling in 1985-86 and 1994-95. He was Hulk Hogan's tag team partner at the first Wrestlemania (1985) (V). Mr. T returned to the WWF as a special guest referee in 1987, then disappeared from the wrestling world. Seven years later, he reappeared as a special referee for a Hogan-Ric Flair match, in October 1994. He stayed with Hogan for a few matches before returning to obscurity. He refuses to take any acting role that casts him as 'bad', and is not interested in doing what he says 'mushy scenes.' "My style," he says, "is always a hungry fighter." He has also been doing a low-budget comedy movie, "DC Cab," which also stars Gary Busey and Musical Youth. In it, he plays a taxi driver who protects kids from hoods. Also in the works is "Rev T," in which he plays a garbage collector who lauches a neighborhood compaign against drugs and crime. He is known as the man with a tough spirit. He was detected as suffering from cancer 10 years back but till now , he has not succumbed to the disease. A real life hero, shall we say?Roddy Detests Mr. T"Rowdy" Roddy Piper mentioned that he and other fellow wrestlers legitimately disliked Mr. T, because he was an actor coming into wrestling, and had not paid his dues as a professional wrestler.But Mr. T and his fans know that he has done justice to both the fields. |
