In August 2001, he took divorce from Kidman also. It is because of his starring role in Risky Business, where he was paid $75000; Cruise, after a long struggle has gained the position in the Hollywood's top earners chart, with earnings of more than $25 million for his work in Minority Report (2002). He put aside the ten major years of his life to build a challenging acting career and headed off to New York to begin his quest. However, with burning curiosity to form a career, he managed to carve a space for himself in Hollywood. The release of ''Magnolia'' garnered Cruise with a Golden Globe Award and also another Academy Award nomination.
