Val Kilmer BiographyVal Edward Kilmer,or better known as Val Kilmer was born on December 31, 1959 to Gladys who was a housewife and Eugene who was a real estate developer in Los Angeles in Chatsworth, California. Val was still a small kid of 9 , when his parents got divorced.As a result of separation of parents Val had to divide his time amid his mother who lived in Santa fe and father who was in Los Angeles.Val is very close to his mother.She even appeared inan otherwise small role in The Saint.During the filming of Tombstone in 1993 Val's father died . Val spent most of his growing up period with his brothers Mark and Wesley.Talking about the actor's education, he attended Chatsworth High School, where he studied drama and dated actress Mare Winningham.As a novice actor Val began acting when he was in the eighth grade.He played a professor in The Mouse That Roared and Scrooge in a musical adaptation of A Christmas Carol.He also attended The Juilliard School in New York where he majored in drama.while still in Julliard , Val acted in a number of asthetic plays in roles of Orestes, Macbeth, Richard III and Henry IV. With a show named One Too Many ,that focused on the problem of teenage drinking and the consequences thereof , the actor initiated with his On-screen career.It was at the age of 24 that, Kilmer starred in his first film, Top Secret!, which was a spoof of World War II movies.In 1985 with his movie Real Genius, a comedy classic directed by Martha Coolidge Val got his next big screen role. It was about the extremely-intellectual college kids who outwit their professor's plan to sell their scientific creation to the military.In 1986 the actor Val Kilmer turned to writer Val Kilmer and brought out series of documentaries, beginning with Journey to Victory, which was about nuclear weapons and disarmament.Then came a series of remarkable films invluding TopGun, Murders In The Rue Morgue ,The Man Who Broke 1000 Chains, Willow, Kill Me Again. Val's next film (1991), Oliver Stone's The Doors, was a critically commended biodrama based on the life of renowned rocker Jim Morrison. It was during this year that Val took on the role of a real life - Dad. Val's daughter, Mercedes, came into the world changing his life eternally. Next in the row came Thunderheart, which was based on a true story which has become known as "The Incident at Oglala," Val, costarring with Graham Greene and Sam Shepard. Year 1993 brought the veteran actor in three different performances, in movies like…The Real McCoy, True Romance and Tombstone. In July, 1994, it was announced that Kilmer would be taking over the role of Batman/Bruce Wayne from Michael Keaton.Now lets hear what the actor's co star has to say about Kilman.
