Vin Diesel BiographyVin Diesel was born in New York and raised by his psychologist mother and step father, a theatre director. His first big break in acting happened by chance, when he and his friends broke into a theatre to vandalize it and rather getting caught for trespassing, they were handed scripts and offered 20$ per week if they showed up after school everyday. From there, Vin’s fledgling career progressed from the New York repertoire company run by his father, to the Off-Off Broadway circuit at places like Amas Rep, La Mama and Riverwest. The work wasn’t well paid, but it allowed him to fulfill his creative acting pursuits. However by the time he was 17, to earn some extra cash he became a bouncer at some of New York’s hippest clubs and it was at this time that he changed his name to ‘Vin Diesel’. Following high school, Diesel enrolled in Hunter College to major in theatre. This was his first step towards taking a more proactive approach to his career in the film industry. After three years at college, he made the decision to leave, feeling the need to make his own film. He wrote a short film called ‘Multi-Facial’ (1994), which was shot in less than three days at a cost of $3000 and was eventually accepted for the 1995 Cannes Film Festival where it received critical acclaim. Steven Spielberg caught his performance in ‘Multi-Facial’ and created the role of Adrian Caparzo in Saving Private Ryan for Diesel. But it was in the year 2000 when filmmakers started to take him seriously and offered star-making roles for the actor in the sci-fi ‘Pitch Black’ and drama ‘Boiler Room’. The roles earned him a legion of devoted fans and the public recognition he deserves. Vin Diesel has the obvious attributes that make women weak in the knees. In general, most women who know he exists love him. He knows it too. In fact, one of his hobbies is reading the gossip and rumors written about the women he is dating. 
Vin Diesel wrote an original screenplay titled "Doormen" (based on his experiences as a bouncer) as a follow-up to Strays (1997), his directorial debut. However, his acting career exploded and his plans to direct the film have fallen by the wayside.
