Smith's Diversified Career

Besides having a successful movie career, Will Smith wants something more to glorify his name. Smith is interested in doing different kinds of films. He even mentioned he enjoyed making a shift from Ali to Men In Black. Nonetheless, Smith has no complaints about his career. "What I really try to accomplish with the roles is, you know, I'm trying to find the number-one answer--the film that does both things," he says. "The film that is a crowd-pleaser and it can garner some kind of critical acclaim."

Solving a Hitch in 'Hitch'

In Birmingham, England, Will Smith told the reporters that the decision to cast a Cuban-American actress, Eva Mendes, as his romantic interest in Hitch was based on "an accepted myth". The prevalent supposition, according to Smith in Hollywood is that if both the male and female protagonist in a romantic comedy are black, then people around the world are not interested in seeing it. ... So the idea of a black actor and a white actress will remain a problem in the U.S.
