One could perhaps attribute her flair for comedy to her father, Rick, a dentist and comedy enthusiast who supporterd Amanda in making people laugh.As a young thespian, Bynes starred in community productions of plays like To Kill a Mockingbird, The Music Man and The Secret Garden. At the age of 10, she performed at a Laugh Factory kids' comedy showcase.Nickelodeon casted Bynes in a sketch-comedy series called All That, where she frequently stole the show from her fellow cast members. She became famous for her part of "Ask Ashley," a sketch about an advice columnist. After four great years on the program and grasping four Kids' Choice awards -- she was awarded her own show, The Amanda Show. It became the most popular show of Nickleodeon and Amanda specifically came to be known for her awesome comic timing. In 2002, the WB network began airing the sitcom What I Like About You, where the teenage Amanda is busy making her sister’s world topsy turvy. In 2003, in What a Girl Wants, Bynes is an American teen in search of her father in London. Amanda Bynes knows how to juggle between sets and yet take out time for herself, her family and her friends. She is only 18 but has tasted the best Hollywood has to offer.
