Avril Lavigne was the big winner at this year's Juno Awards, taking three statues for Artist of the Year, Pop Album of the Year for Under My Skin and the Juno Fan Choice award. The show, the Canadian equivalent of the Grammys, took place Sunday night at Winnipeg's MTS Centre.

Avril Lavigne's second album, Under My Skin, sold 381,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan, to debut Number One. Skin's tally shows just how far the Canadian pop star has come in the two years since she materialized on the scene with Let Go. That debut made a strong showing for a newcomer, with a Number Eight bow, though its 63,000 sales were just the beginning of Lavigne's success. (June 2, 2004)
