The actress' father Jamie is a building contractor and her mother Lynne is a second grade teacher. Her parents also run a gym. Britney the middle among the three siblings, the older Bryan is brother and a younger Jamie Lynn is sister. She has many nicknames like Pinkey, Bit-bit, or Brit. Early 1999 Britney became an international success with the release of her debut album Baby, one more time selling 13 million copies. Oops, I did it again followed in 2000 May becoming a sophomore hit selling around 9 million copies. Baring her midriff in concerts have become her trademark. She idolises Mariah Carey and Madonna. She has been the First Solo Artist ever to have a number one Album and Single on the Billboard Charts at the same time with a Debut. Britney caused a stir in 1999 with the American Family Association by posing in her underwear on the cover of Rolling Stone and also fought rumours of breasts implants the same year. In the year 2000, she again created a stir at MTV Video Music Awards by dressing up in flesh colored outfit which made her look scantily clad. She also signed a contract with Pepsi to do their T.V commercials promoting their soft drink for $10,000 million upwards in 2001. In the same year she hosted the American Music Awards.. Britney is also the most searched for name on the internet. Currently, she is at work on her fourth album slated to release by October 2003. "Who really cares if I've had sex? It's nobody's business. Britney Warns Reality TV Show
Britney Spears has been warned her new Reality TV Show face the axe unless it attracts more viewers. But the pop diva, who is expecting her first child later this year, is said to be so troubled by the news, she is now undergoing counseling sessions to come to terms with her waning fame. A source is quoted by Britain's Daily Star newspaper as saying: "The worst thing is that the viewing figures are so low, she's upset that her fans don't seem to care anymore.
