Actress Cate Blanchett has hit out at the cosmetic industry, just weeks after signing a deal to promote a skincare range. Cate insists she is very concerned about the negative impact they have on the skin due to excessive usage. Blanchett was recently unveiled as the new face of SK-II Japanese creams.

Cate met Andrew Upton in Australia and two weeks after they met he proposed. A few weeks after that they married. Blanchett has managed to preserve the privacy of rest of her family: her mother, Joan; her elder brother, Bob; and her younger sister Genevieve.
There is something comforting about the way Blanchett presents herself: She does not seem to lead a life out of touch with reality and, in many ways, comes off as a woman many can associate with. What drives her is not the money but the desire to experience new things through the characters she takes on. 
Cate graduated from Australia's National Institute of Dramatic Art in 1992 and won both critical and popular acclaim. Attended Methodist Ladies College (MLC) in Melbourne, Australia and was the School Drama Captain.
