Catherine Zeta Jones BiographyCatherine Zeta-Jones was born and raised in the Welsh town of Swansea where her father ran the town confectionery and mother was a seamstress. Catherine showed an interest early on in entertainment. She sang and danced her way to local stardom before she was ten years-old, as a part of a Catholic congregation's performing troupe. Catherine Zeta-Jones debuted on the British stage, starring in the musical 42nd Street, but made a name for herself in the early '90s, when she starred in the Yorkshire Television comedy-drama series The Darling Buds of May. Based on a series of novels by H.E. Bates, the show was a smash hit and made Zeta-Jones one of the United Kingdom's most popular television actresses. At first Catherine bagged small roles in movies such as "The Phantom" and "Christopher Columbus: The Discovery", but her big break came when by chance, Steven Spielberg caught her performance in the 1996 miniseries "Titanic", and was impressed by her talent and beauty. He cast her in "The Mask of Zorro" (1998). Although Catherine was not known in the U.S. until her role in The Mask of Zorro, she was a well-known star in her native UK. Audiences probably wondered where this beauty popped up from, since they had never before heard of the Welsh star, who was often mistaken for Spanish. . Gaining increasing prominence through the 1990s with roles in such films as Entrapment (1999), The Haunting (1999) and Traffic (2000), Jones stunned audiences with an Oscar winning performance in the long-awaited Broadway adaptation Chicago (2002). 2004 was a busy year for Catherine Zeta-Jones: she's starred in Spielberg's The Terminal, as well as the sequel to Ocean's Eleven, Ocean's Twelve. Catherine to star in 'Dallas'
Catherine Zeta-Jones has been tipped to star in the big-screen version of classic TV show Dallas - but producers are refusing to confirm Brad Pitt as her co-star. The Welsh beauty will play wholesome Pamela Ewing in the Texan oil drama, which originally ran for 13 years from 1978.

Catherine got engaged to Michael Douglas on 31 December 1999 at Aspen, Colorado. The two got married on 18th November 2000 in the Terrace Room of the legendary Plaza Hotel in New York.
In addition to Michael Douglas, she also shares a birthday with Will Smith, Heather Locklear, Barbara Walters, Michael Madsen and the late Christopher Reeve. While Catherine and husband Michael Douglas are not the same age, their birthdays are both on 25th of September. 
Her production company is named Milkwood films, after a play of the same name by Welsh writer Dylan Thomas. She and Thomas share the same hometown in Wales, Swansea. Brother Lyndon Jones also works for her production company.
