ChynaChyna was born on December 27th 1970 and was christened as Joanie Laurer. This "red" haired little girl grew up in Rochester, New York. At an early age Joanie was a huge "Winnie the Pooh" fan. It wasn't until she was fifteen that Joanie began topump iron and do weight exercises. Her classmates used to jeer at her body structure and Chyna revenged themselves in the gym by taking it out on the weight lifter. The more she was laughed at, the more she worked out. Gerry Blais, a bodybuilder, saw her pumping iron and was amazed by her strength and body. He soon became her weight trainer and Chyna's muscle significantly improved.After graduating High School, she got her scholorships to go to college which she did in Florida. There she majored in Spanish Literature. Joanie was an above average student and graduated in two years instead of the assigned four years. She also learned Spanish, German, and French. she traveled to Walter "Killer" Kowalski's Wrestling School. Joanie was the only girl there. Kiler was also the trainer of Triple H , Chyna's love interest. Finally Joanie was noticed by the WWF. For sometime she worked as a bodyguard of Triple H. In 1997,she came into the field as Chyna. Chyna become the World Wrestling Federation's first Woman Intercontinental Champion. She was also the first woman to have a man's belt! She is a role model for so many enthusiasts, a symbol of feminist power. Chyna's HeartbrokenChyna's personal life was in ruins when she realized that her fiancée was having an affair with someone else. Chyna says "At that time there was an on-screen love affair between Vince McMahon's daughter Stephanie and my fiancé Paul Levesque, known as Triple H. She continues "They were also having a real-life affair behind my back. I found out about it, confronted Vince and lost my job." But she worked hard to come out of it! |
