Devon Aoki BiographyDevon Aoki is the person in charge of the new fashion wave that welcome women of various ethnicities .Born on August 10th, 1982, in New York Devon Edwenna Aoki, popularly known as Devon Aoeki is a not a new face in the modeling and acting world. About her parents Devon says "My mom's German/English and my dad is Japanese, and I'm half and half, and I've been brought up with both sides equally, which is important to me. So I definitely think that I represent both. That's who I am." Devon is brought up in such a family where fame and wealth was not a new thing. Her father is Japanese former Olympic wrestler Rocky Aoki, who is now restaurant mogul, proprietor of the Benihana Restaurants, and her mother is British-German jewelry designer Pamela Hilburger.aoki's parents divorced when she was 14, and rest of her life she spent with her mother in London.At a very young age of 13 years, when most of the children are busy learning their lessons at school. Devon embarked upon her modeling career.this happened when she was spotted at a Rancid concert in New York.Following this she signed with Storm Model Management.the real break that can be regarded as the turning point of her career came when she replaced supermodel Naomi Campbell as the next face of Versace. With this the 5'6" inches tall model was placed in rank with such modeling goodies as Mena Suvari, Elizabeth Jagger and Uma Thurman. Some of the real great shows are already there in the girl's kitty that includes her graceful walks for Chanel, Fendi, Jean Paul Gaultier, Yohji Yamamoto, Karl Lagerfeld, Anna Molinari and Givenchy. Aoki also worked featuring Karl Lagerfeld's Chanel Couture, Steven Meisel's Versace Atelier, and Bettina Kimenda's Junko Shimada ad promotions.It was soon enough that her rising status made her the wannabe of the magazine world.she was plastered on the coverpages of a number of major magazines including Vogue, Elle Girl, i-D, and Nylon. It was in the year 2003 that Devon took her first leap into movies.Her breakout role came in shape of a stunning racer Suki in John Singleton's runaway success, 2 Fast 2 Furious, the second installment of the hit The Fast and The Furious. This came as a clean sweep for Devon, she was able to electrify the audience with her performance alongside actors Paul Walker, Tyrese, and Eva Mendes.with this there came a series of assignments rolling for this novice actress.Angela Robinson cast Aoki to portray French student/agent Dominique, and teamed her with Sara Foster, Jordana Brewster, and Jill Ritchie in her Sundance Film Festival hit film, the spy-spoof D.E.B.S (2004). Talking about the current scene , one can catch her in Frank Miller's thriller Sin City (2005, starring Jessica Alba, Rosario Dawson, Elijah Wood, and Bruce Willis). Along with this she has also played a role in hip-hop tycoon Damon Dash' musical comedy, Death of a Dynasty (2005), in which she costarred with Ebon Moss-Bachrach.The actress is at present working in China, in Corey Yuen's version of Tecmo's best-selling video game, D.O.A. On her impending film, Aoki said, "I actually leave for there in about a month, and I'm going to be there for about three months... There's even more action in that one. I'm going to do five hours of training a day... It's going to be very physical and I'm looking forward to that."Aoki will be playing a kick-boxer in the film. As far as the future prospects of this young energetic lady is concerned , soon you can see her going into the shoes of a designer as Aoki is planning to release her own clothing line.
