Dido BiographyDido was born on 25th December, 1971 in London, England. Her unusual name resembles with the African warrior queen. She grew up without the luxury of television. But, Dido still found a form of entertainment. Her brother Rollo is associated with the British popular band Faithless. Dido learned to play the recorder (a kind of flute), that allows her to get admission in the prestigious Guildhall School of Music in London, when she was just 6 years old. She then moved on to different instrument like piano, violin. Till now, she was only a good instrument player but later she develops her interest in singing also. She became so impressed by the jazz singer Ella Fitzgerald when she was just 16. She decided to sing and perform with several bands. Her brother was not really impressed by her voice but she still continues her effort. She kept herself busy by working with publishing house and attending law school. She used to sing at different London venues at night. Band Aid's MidgeThe star, who together with Bob Geldof was the brains behind the charity single , admitted he went into rehab in order to save is marriage to wife Sheridan Forbes, but only became committed to getting better when Geldof warned him he could lose everything. The father-of-three said in an interview with Britain's T2 newspaper: "It will be my first Christmas without alcohol. I thought I was fine until about five years ago. |
