Dido spent 5 years in the making, overnight success. She was being helped by her friend Goody Two-Shoes himself and Eminem to claim success. The song titled “Thank You” mark her way to the fame. It was something dramatic for her.
She cannot be termed as newcomer in the singing world because she already experiences the taste of singing in her brother’s Rollo’s trip-hop band Faithless. The album sold 5 million copies, and it grabbed the attention of Clive Davis. This is the man who has discovered Whitney Houston and Bruce Springsteen.  She gathers some recognition last with her song “Here with Me". The song was used the theme for the WB's Roswell.

Dido has been equally getting reviews from critics and fans alike. This is a rare case when an artist getting applaud from different community. She has unique voice that makes her stand apart from the rest of crowd. She has mastery of the subtleties of lyrics. Comparisons to Sarah McLachlan are inevitable, but Dido's brother influenced her to have a much more urban sound. The funny thing is that Dido was trained to be a classical musician that was more likely to perform alongside Pavarotti than Eminem.
