Faith Hill Biography
Audrey Faith Perry was born September 21, 1967, in Jackson, Mississippi, to parents Ted and Edna. She grew up in the city of Star, perhaps an indicator of what was to come. Singing in church while growing up and, at 19, she became known to her fans as Faith Hill. She moved to Nashville to pursue a country music career. Faith found her first job selling T-shirts at the Country Music Fan Fair. Meanwhile, she met Dan Hill, a music executive, and married him in 1987. In 1991, the couple separated. Hill found a job with Gary Morris' Nashville company at which time Morris heard her singing "It Scares Me" along with the radio. After performing on demo tapes, Hill's first professional singing job was as back-up for songwriter/musician Gary Burr, who later became her co-producer. Signed with Warner Brother Records, Faith's first album, entitled Take Me As I Am, which was released in 1993, sold 2 million copies and spawned such number one hits as "Wild One" (her debut country single) and a rendition of rocker Janis Joplin's "Piece of My Heart". Two years later, in the summer of 1995, her next album "It Matters To Me" was released. The album netted her triple platinum status. "A Man's Home Is His Castle" and the title track album topped the charts for weeks. In addition, the album sold over 3 million copies. After that Faith Hill was firmly established as a country hit maker. Faith toured extensively in 1994 and 1995 with Reba McEntire, Brooks & Dunn, Alan Jackson and George Strait. In 1996 she played over 140 dates in the United States with Tim McGraw, a tour that turned out to be one of the top grossing tours of the year. In 1996, Hill and McGraw married. They are now parents to two young daughters, Gracie and Maggie. Breathe, a musically diverse and soulful recording produced by Hill and Faith producers Byron Gallimore and Dann Huff, is remarkably close to an autobiographical collection of 13 tracks. Breathe debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Top 200 and Country Album Charts and has sold over three million copies. It contains No. 1 singles including the cross-over smash "Breathe" and "The Way You Love Me." Faith performed in the closing ceremonies of the 1996 Summer Olympic Games in Atlanta, sang the national anthem at Super Bowl XXXIV,The Academy Awards, The Grammy Awards, VH1 Divas 2000, and the ACM Awards show. With her crystal-clear vocals and passion for her music, Faith Hill will be on the charts for a long time to come.

Audrey Faith Perry, was born on September 21, 1967, in Jackson, Mississippi and grew up in the small town of Star, Mississippi. Her parents, Ted and Edna, were a factory worker and a former bank employee. Faith started singing at the age of three at family reunions and gatherings. When she was seven years she performed at a 4-H luncheon. Hill spent much of her childhood singing wherever the opportunity arose.
