Gwen Stefani

Lead singer of the band No Doubt, Gwen Stefani was hurled toward stardom with her three times platinum debut solo album "Love, Angel, Music, Baby" (2004). She originally joined the band as backup vocals, but after John Spence committed suicide, she took over as lead singer. From complete unknown and semi-known on the West Coast, to symbol of women's contribution to ska/rock/pop, Gwen has surfaced as one of the best-known pop icons of today's music scene. Gwen and No Doubt (whose members include Tony Kanal on bass, Tom Dumont on guitar, and Adrian Young on drums) struggled while playing in small clubs for nearly a decade, but the astronomical success of such songs as "Just A Girl," "Don't Speak" and "A Simple Kind of Life" has brought No Doubt international fame. A romance with Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale only added fuel to the fire, making her a favorite of music publications' gossip columns. Gwen has also splashed across the wide screen. She recently costarred as Jean Harlow, with Leonardo DiCaprio and Cate Blanchett in Martin Scorsese's Oscar nominating film, The Aviator (2004).

Gwen learns acting

Childhood
"I think everyone has gifts and everyone has talents. If you are successful at it, it feels really good but it never really penetrates completely. There are moments where I think that we made an amazing record and I'm so proud of it, but I don't wake up and go, "Wow, I'm amazing." "For me, acting comes from the same place as performing music. I just have to perform. I wanted to get it right and I did. Sometimes you just have to go for it."
