Hilary Duff Biography

Hilary Ann Duff was born on 28^th September, 1987 in Houston, Texas. Her parents were Bob Duff and Susan Duff. At the age of six, she traveled in the Cechetti Ballet with her sister Haylie Duff, but later on shifted to acting to fulfill her dream. She first acted in the mini-series, True Women in 1997 for the TV appearance, then as Ellie in The Soul Collector in the year 1999 for TV, for which she won a Best Performance in a TV Movie or Pilot (Supporting Young Actress) Young Artist Award.

 Hilary also starred in Casper Meets Wendy in the year 1998 as a TV artist. She played the young witch Wendy. She started riding the Success ladder when she took the role of Lizzie McGuire in the Disney Channel Hit Series, "Lizzie McGuire" (2001). "Lizzie" is now in its 2nd phase, the series was a great hit among all sorts of audiences. She appeared in Disney Channel movie Cadet Kelly in the year 2002 that too a TV appearance. She returned to the big screen for the first time with The Lizzie McGuire Movie in the year 2003. By the time she was a successful artist and made very strong and appealing performance in the TV series Lizzie McGuire.

She was very much interested in dance since her childhood. She started learning dance and made her stage debut in a Christmas production of -The Nutcracker. She was acknowledged for her performance in The Soul Collector in the year 1991. With her performance in Casper Meets Wendy in the year 1998, Hilary’s career took great turn and she was propelled to an international stardom. The Lizzie McGuire Movie was released to theaters on May 2nd, 2003 and earned an impressive record of $42 million. Hilary also appeared in Agent Cody Banks in the year 2003. Hilary was also known for her storming performance in the music world. She thrilled the audience as well as music charts with solo like “So Yesterday" and "Come Clean" the song was nicely placed into the top 40. Hilary's first album, "Metamorphosis", was placed at #2 on the Billboard 2000, and ultimately ascended to #1 in the following weeks. The album did pretty well and sold more than 2 million copies. Although she is currently touring America in support of "Metamorphosis," Hilary hasn't discarded her film career. Along with her music career she also starred in the movie such as A Cinderella Story in the year 2004, co-starring Chad Michael Murray, The Perfect Man in the year 2005 and Raise Your Voice in the year 2004. With all the achievement and fame she is still down to earth and is the 2004 international spokesperson of Kids with a Cause, a charity organization that specializes in poverty-stricken children. Some of her movie in which she made her presence were Cheaper by the Dozen in the year 2003, Human Nature in the year 2001, Cadet Kelly in the year 2002 a TV appearance , and True Women in the year 1997 that too a TV appearance.
