Jennifer Garner BiographyJennifer Anne Garner was born on April 17, 1972 in Houston, Texas, to a chemical engineer father and an English professor mother. Along with her two sisters, Melissa and Susannah, Jennifer relocated with her parents to Charleston, West Virginia. An aspiring ballerina, Jennifer attended George Washington High School while taking ballet lessons. Jennifer studied ballet for nine years before enrolling as a chemical engineering major at Denison University. After realizing that she loved the stage more than science she changed her major to drama. New York attracted the young actress after college where she worked as a hostess while pursuing a career in film and television. Now fully conscious of her capabilities as an actress, Jennifer moved to Los Angeles to seek out television and film work. She used to work as a hostess at Isabella's restaurant while gaining a steadier stream of TV roles, before getting her first significant break on the WB TV show 'Felicity', where she also met future 'Alias' creator J.J. Abrams. This was followed by supporting roles in the movies 'Pearl Harbor' and 'Dude Where's My Car?'. However, although Alias has been her first really successful leading role, her role as Elektra in the upcoming comic book adapted action film Daredevil is sure to be the first of many memorable film appearances.EducationGraduated from George Washington High School in Charleston, WV. Childhood
Jennifer was raised in a conservative family that did not allow their daughters to wear make-up and jewelry. However, they were very supportive and Jennifer once quoted, "My parents never said anything except, 'Go for it.'" An aspiring ballerina, Jennifer attended George Washington High School while taking ballet lessons.

In 2000 she married Scott Foley (who played her love interest on the television show Felicity, where she had a recurring role) but separated and subsequently filed for divorce in 2003. Jennifer has been linked romantically with her 'Alias' co-star Michael Vartan and her 'Daredevil' co-star Ben Affleck.
Used to be a hostess at Isabella's restaurant in New York when she was trying to launch her acting career. Is a trained ballerina who initially left dance for theater acting. Shares a birthday with singer/songwriter Liz Phair, whose song, "Why Can't I?", was used in Jennifer's movie 13 Going On 30 (2004). One of her call signs on "Alias" is "Mountaineer." She was raised in West Virginia, and the Mountaineer is the mascot of West Virginia University
