Meg RyanOften called as the Blond-haired, blue-eyedbeauty, Meg Ryan graduated from Bethel high school in June 1979.She went on to study journalism in New York University. To get some money wile studying, Meg went into acting as Meg Ryan. In 1981, she had her big screen debut as Candice Bergen's daughter in George Cukor's last film Rich and Famous (1981). Then, she acted as Betsy in the day time television soap "As the World Turns" (1956).Meg also had a part in the television series "One of the Boys" (1982),but could not get much out of it. In 1984, she moved to tinsel town and landed a job in the western Television Series "Wildside" (1985).Meg became a celebrity with Top Gun(1986). In Steven Spielberg's movie Innerspace (1987), she co-starred with Dennis Quaid. She again co-starred with Quaid in the remake of D.O.A. (1988) and as was predicted, fell in love and married him on Valentine Day in 1991. In 1989, Meg starred in the blockbuster When Harry Met Sally (1989). Meg was nominated for both the Golden Globe and the BAFTA. In 1990, she co-starred with Tom Hanks in Joe Versus the Volcano (1990) and again in the very successful Sleepless in Seattle (1993) for which she was again nominated for the Golden Globe. For her role as the alcoholic wife and mother in When a Man Loves a Woman (1994), Meg Ryan was highly appreciated. After that, she went back to "cute" with both I.Q. (1994) and French Kiss (1995). In 1994, Meg won the Harvard Hasty Pudding Award as "Woman of the Year" and was voted as being one of "The 50 most beautiful people in the world 1994" by People Magazine. Recently, she had a botox treatment and is still doing wonders with her acting capabilities and her drop dead looks even at the age of 44 years. Sister ActIN THE CUT Director Jane Campion asked Meg Ryan and Jennifer Jason Leigh to make believe they were their characters and asked them to confide in each other before playing sisters in the movie. Meg followed the advice carefully and honestly shared her secrets with her onscreen sister. The two reportedly became very close to each other and did behave like sisters even when not shooting. |

On 4 February 2002 an L.A. judge granted a restraining order against John Michael Hughes, a 40 year old real estate agent who had been hanging around Ryan's home claiming to be her fiancee. Initially, the actor ignored him but when the man became persistent and started bugging her in spite of her repeated warnings, the lady decided to get up and get rid of him. 
In 2000 , she did a number of comic roles and also produced the supernatural thriller Lost Souls. She came into limelight for her affair with Russell Crowe which led to her divorce with Quaid. So, it was a good bad year for her. She came back to the big screen with a smiling face, all due to botox!
