Salma HayekSalma is the dark-eyed beauty from Mexico who has earned herself a special place in Hollywood not only because of her stunning looks and also because of her good acting skills. She was born on September 2nd , 1966 in Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz, Mexico to Sami Hayek Domingues and Diana Hayek.As a child, Salma was a prankster and as such got explelled from school. After that her parents sent her off to her aunt’s place in Houston and there she completed her high school. She then moved to Mexico City to study International Relations at the National University of Mexico, but later dropped out to pursue acting. Salma started her acting career in Mexico and was soon able to establish herself as a celebrity there. Later on, she moved to L.A. to make her mark in Hollywood and was able to earn much recognition and fame when she appeared in the runaway success “Desperado”. Her role in Frida was also well appreciated by the audience. Its Shivering Cold!Hayek shivered in the cold at the premiere of her film FRIDA on Thursday – she waved to fans and signed autographs outside the Odeon Cinema in London's Leicester Square, declined to remove her red velvet coat to reveal the glamorous cream gown underneath, declaring herself freezing. |

Salma has signed for the Warner Bros.’s THE WILD WILD WEST, which is a movie based on a 1950´s TV show. In this movie Salma will play the lead role of Rita Escobar. This is her first studio movie since FOOLS RUSH IN . In this movie she will act with Will Smith, Kevin Kline , and Kenneth Branagh, and the director will be Barry Sonnenfield.

Hayek has found a new man after splitting from Edward Norton, in the shape of actor Josh Lucas -- The couple have been seen out and about in Hollywood in recent weeks, and friends are convinced they're set to become Tinseltown's next big couple.
Hayek was terrified after bumping into the niece of the real-life character she plays in new movie FRIDA, and even more shocked to find the relative loved her role. It must be quite an experience for Hayek meeting the niece of the real-life character she has portrayed in the movie. (February 22, 2003) 
Salma Hayek is hinting around that she's dating her ex-boyfriend Edward Norton once again. She was taping an episode of 'Inside the Actor's Studio' last week when she revealed that Ed was doing a screenplay for her for free. When host James Lipton asked why, she only smiled and winked. While Salma's reps insist the two haven't gotten back together, a source says, "It was definitely implied that they're back together." The two dated for four years before breaking up last year.
